Omulolo
Revisiting the giant wall hangings made for the charity Auction in 2017, the new felted Textles and the photographic prints are derived from blended images of Ntshak Raffia designs (from the former Zaire), felted textiles to wear that I produced during the last decade and the more recent Zwarte Piet collages.
The abstracted photographic images are printed on Acrylic which, with its hand-polished surface enhances the depth of colour and a sharpness to the design, in contrast to the softness of the Feletd textiles that invite the viewer to come closer to see the many layers of texture and colour.
